SUMMARY:Webinar with OSPIN: Custom Technology for Bioprocesses
DESCRIPTION:Can custom technology change the way we do cellAG research? \n\n\n\nCustomisation of technology is ever closer to significantly accelerating and improving bioprocessing workflows. We are very proud to be a part of this exciting journey. To induce some constructive debate we have invited some of the top experts in related fields to share their experience:Dr. Ivana Gadjanski – Assistant director for science at BioSense – Development of sensors for bioreactorsDr. Jan Saam – CEO at OSPIN GmbH – Modular Bioreactor DesignScott Allan – Research Fellow and PhD student – Ellis Lab\, University of BathLuka Banović – Engineering Project Manager at IRNAS – Applied Custom Hardware Development \n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\n\n\n Dr. Ivana Gadjanski Assistant director for science @BioSense Dr Ivana Gadjanski\, associate research professor and assistant director for science at BioSense Institute has multidisciplinary experience in biomedical and bioengineering field. She obtained PhD at Georg-August University and Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry\, Goettingen\, Germany\, was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia University\, USA and in Serbia worked at Center for Bioengineering-BioIRC and Innovation center at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering\, University of Belgrade before joining BioSense Institute in May 2017\, where she works on bionanotechnology applications in cellular agriculture (tissue engineering in agrifood) and biosensors for food safety sector. \n\n\n\nDr. Jan Saam CEO @OSPIN GmbH Dr. Jan Saam is CEO of OSPIN GmbH. He studied biophysics and obtained his Ph.D. in 2007 from the Humboldt University of Berlin. After a few years dedicated to simulating the complex dynamics of biomolecules on super computers\, he worked as product designer in the software industry and later as innovation manager in a biomedical think tank in Berlin\, where he became interested in tissue engineering. In 2014 he founded OSPIN\, a company offering customized technology to automate\, digitize\, and scale up bioprocesses in the fields of tissue engineering\, cultured meat and cell-therapy. \n\n\n\n Scott Allan University of Bath\, New Harvest research fellow Scott Allan is a New Harvest Research Fellow and PhD student with the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies at the University of Bath\, UK. Following his MEng in Chemical Engineering with a placement year in the oil and gas industry\, he is now actively pursuing research into sustainability. His research in the Ellis lab focuses on defining the fundamentals required to scale-up cultured meat production through the design of bioreactors. \n\n\n\nRegistration

SUMMARY:BlueSens auf der e-European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE)
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Holger Müller from the BlueSens gas sensor GmbH will talk about Professional off-gas analysis for biogas and residual gas applications on the 08.07.2020 12:40-13:00: https://www.eubce.com/exhibitors-presentations.html. \n\n\n\nThe European Biomass Conferences and Exhibition has grown from a small research community biomass conference more than 30 years ago to a well-established international conference\, tackling challenges ranging from biomass growth and biomass conversion to bioenergy\, biofuels and bioproducts\, sustainability and policies\, and to provide a forum for industrial implementation of technologies enabling the transition away fossil fuels economies. For all of these topics on integration of processes\, technologies and value chains it has always been necessary to ensure the most efficient use of the limited biomass resource and enable economic viability. The ultimate step of integration is a fully functioning bioeconomy.A bioeconomy existed in pre-industrial\, pre-fossil fuel times\, as well-established traditional bio-based activities\, ranging from agriculture\, food\, feed\, fibre and forest-based industries. A modern bioeconomy is now emerging\, encompassing biomaterials and biochemicals production\, along with traditional bio-based products. EUBCE tackles already some of the non-energy sectors such as biochemical and biomaterials and biorefineries. Bioeconomy encompasses the wide ranging economic sectors dealing with the growth\, conversion\, application and marketing of bioproducts and biochemicals from biogenic sources. The 28th EUBCE will expand its portfolio from energy related biomass production and conversion of bio-based feedstock to other sectors of the economy and will now integrate the bioeconomy into its conference programme. In 2020 the conference will include key sessions that will dig deep into the structure\, components and role of the emerging bioeconomy in Europe and across the world. There will be plenty of opportunities to present\, to listen to and to discuss the fine details of technology developments\, options for mitigation of adverse environmental and climate impacts and engage in policy debates. Research results from all stages of development will continue to form the core of the conference. addressing the bioeconomy\, the thread that links all facets of the growth and utilization of biomass now and in the future. \n\n\n\nProgrammeRegistration
