Conversely what are the criteria for scaling-up the process developed at the microscale to large scale systems? Meanwhile technologies of even smaller dimensions such as microfluidic devices, lab-on-a chip approaches and HTPD on the nanoscale are discussed as state of the art for process development in the biotech community. Successful application of HT systems for process development depends on the right choice of technology in combination with Design of experiment strategies or mechanistic modelling and statistical evaluation of the obtained data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bio-pat.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/BVT-WS-e1565103665202.png\" alt=\"Logo Bioverfahrenstechnik, Institut f\u00fcr Biotechnologie, TU Berlin\" class=\"wp-image-837\" width=\"325\" height=\"103\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prof. Neubauer (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tu.berlin\/bioprocess\" target=\"_blank\">Chair of Bioprocess Engineering<\/a> at the TU Berlin) will talk on April 13th at 11:40 about &#8220;Moving towards fully autonomous model-based high-throughput bioprocess development and clone discrimination<\/strong>.<br><strong><strong>Annina Kemmer<\/strong> of the same chair<\/strong> <strong>will present her poster in a poster flash talk on April 13th. It is entiteld &#8220;Modeling of enzyme-mediated glucose release to facilitate continuous feed in miniaturized fermentations&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The symposium will focus on:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Nanoscale devices to predict process data<\/li><li>Scale up \/ down rules for process development in up and downstream processing and their limitations<\/li><li>Microscale methods for process development in up and downstream processing \u2013 case studies, commercial systems<\/li><li>Application of DoE and statistical evaluation of large data<\/li><li>Microfluidic devices for up and downstream processing and their limitations<\/li><li>Lab on a chip approach for process development in up and downstream processing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Questions to be addressed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Are there still open questions to be addressed?<\/li><li>Can we predict production scale processes from microscale experiments?<\/li><li>Which a priori information is necessary to design experiments?<\/li><li>How small is large enough?<\/li><li>How should we generate HT data to get the best out of it?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Renowned speakers from academia and industry will give keynote lectures on the topic and will be part of a round table discussion.
