About the conference: Chemical and Biochemical Engineering – Acting Together

Chemical engineering, biotechnology and bioprocessing are the key to providing innovative solutions for food supply, mobility, energy, health and well-being while striving for a sustainable economy.
At ECCE 14 & ECAB 7 (European Congress of Chemical Engineering and 7th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology), scientists from industry, universities and research institutions from Europe and beyond will meet in Berlin to discuss the latest research and industrial applications in all fields of chemistry, process engineering, biotechnology and related fields. The conference unites chemical and process engineers, biotechnologists, bioprocess experts, chemists, material scientists and related disciplines with a focus on applied research and development.

ECCE 14 & ECAB 7 is organized by DECHEMA e.V. in cooperation with the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) and the European Society of Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES).

Key-Facts:
» The highlight event for the European chemical engineering and biotechnology community
» Cross-linking disciplines and organisations to span the bridge from R&D to the industrial practice
» High-profile international plenary and keynote speakers
» Large industry exhibition, poster exhibition with up to 1000 posters and plenty of networking opportunities
» More than 2,500 academic and industrial experts in the field of chemistry, process engineering, biotechnology and related fields will attend
» First meeting held in Florence, Italy in 1997 and since then, every two years at different locations such as: Montpellier, Nuremberg, Granada, Copenhagen, Prague, The Hague, Nice and Barcelona

Satellite Session: PAT applications in fed batch and continuous bioprocesses
(organized by DECHEMA-BioTechNet working group Measurement & control and Bio-PAT e.V., Berlin/D)
The session will focus on inline and online process analytical technologies in fed-batch and continuous bioprocesses which provide a deeper knowledge on the characteristics of grwoth, physiology and/or product formation.  Aside from  analytical solutions it also aims to focus on dataprocessing technologies to apply the data in the control of a process. Possible technolgies include but are not limited to optical technologies, innovative gas analytical procedures and novel electrode  systems.
Dr. Holger Müller (BlueSens gas sensor GmbH) will be chair of this session. Eike Janesch (Chair of Bioprocess Engineering at TU Berlin) and assoz. Prof. Dr. Junne (former collague of the same chair, now Aalborg University Esbjerg in Denmark) will give talks.
