Bio-PAT: Cooperation Workshop & 11th General Meeting
On November 13, 2024 an internal workshop and a general meeting of the Bio-PAT e.V. took place at the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering- TU Berlin.
The aim of the workshop was to promote exchange among the members, to bundle competencies in the network, and thus to generate ideas for cooperations / research projects. Therefore, the members had time for intensive bilateral exchange with all participants for two topic blocks. Further, a discussion round for each topic block with all participants was conducted. Several ideas for cooperations were generated and will be followed up.
At the general meeting, the board of the association was confirmed or elected. The board for the next two years consists of the following members:
- Chair of the board: Prof. Peter Neubauer – leader of the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering – TU Berlin.
- 1st deputy: Jörn Emmerich – CEO and Co-founder of SOPAT GmbH
- NEW: 2nd deputy: Dr. Roland Hass – CEO and founder of PDW Analytics GmbH
- Treasurer: Thomas Grimm – CEO of ANiMOX GmbH
We thank Dr. Joachim Venus – leader of the working group Bioconversion at ATB Potsdam (retired) – for his contributions and committment as the second deputy for 4 years and the current board for their willingness to shape the future of the network Bio-PAT.
Further topics of the meeting were the report of recently passed events and actions of the network, the financial status, and the outlook for the following months. Also the current planning status of the Future Bioprocessing Center – an initiative of Prof. Neubauer – was shortly presented.
