Bio-PAT Seminar: The iConsensus project – an integrated control and sensing platform

On April 07,.2022 the 2nd Bio-PAT Online-Seminar of the series „Trends in measurement and control technology in biotechnology“ with the topic „The iConsensus project – an integrated control and sensing platform“ took place.

Since the beginning of 2022, Bio-PAT is organizing this series, formerly provided by the DECHEMA Working group „Messen und Regeln“, which is still supporting these events.
In this series, methods in measurement and control technologies in biotechnology are presented and the question is discussed how biotechnological processes can be optimally conducted by the application of process analytical technologies (PAT).

In this seminar in April, recent progresses of the iConsensus project and applied process analytical technologies were presented. Over 40 participants followed the talks of Prof. Veronique Chotteau (Department of Industrial Biotechnology, School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health, KTH Royal Institute of Technology), Christoph Berg (Bioprocess Engineering Aachen – Biochemical Engineering (AVT.BioVT), RWTH Aachen University) and Dr. Olivier Paquet-Durand (Chair of Process Analytics and Cereal Science, University of Hohenheim) and used the chance for questions and discussions.

iConsensus is a collaborative research consortium formed by experts from academia and industry. The consortium is developing an integrated control and sensing platform for production of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and advanced therapies. The platform aims to be a key element for achieving faster and safer production of pharmaceuticals, more cost-effective development and manufacturing processes. More information you can find in the Periodic report I.
