Vision and Mission

Vision

Bio-PAT will be a pioneering network for the research, development, and implementation of bioprocess and bioprocess analytical technologies across Germany.
We bring together creative minds and experts from science, industry, and society in the fields of bioprocess engineering, process analytics, and process control, with the aim of strengthening the exchange of knowledge, technology, and resources. In this way, innovative technologies for improved process analytics and control can be developed more rapidly and integrated into all biotechnological process steps—from development through to quality control.
Bio-PAT thus makes a significant contribution to making biotechnological processes more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable—for example through the integration of PAT in the production of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, biomaterials, food and beverages, agricultural products, and waste valorization—thereby also contributing to society and the environment.

Mission

Our mission is to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany, particularly in the Berlin–Brandenburg region, in the field of bioprocess engineering, process analytics, and process control.
We support the various stakeholders in these areas in collaborating and exchanging expertise, technologies, experiences, and ideas through diverse events.
We enhance their visibility, for example through presentations on social media, our website, as well as at trade fairs and conferences, and we expand their networks by connecting them with external partners.
We encourage the (further) development of innovative technologies, particularly for improved bioprocess analytics and control, in order to enable more efficient processes and process development in biotechnology. Findings and results from research and development are made accessible to the public.
